Introduction
Welcome to the Creeping Death Metallica Page. If you came expecting a bunch
of pics to slow down your connection and waste your time and money, try
another page. There will be none of that here, along with frames, animated
gifs, ads, spam, pointless java, or self-serving statements. This is not
_the_ best Metallica page, just one that I like personally. This is my
creation here, paid out of my own pocket for nigh unto three years now. I
never have and never will put ads on my page. If I use a graphic I try to
set the dimensions so the rest of the page loads. With few exceptions, if I
offer a file, I'll upload it to my site so that I don't strain another's
site. I try my best to give credit where credit is due, and I hope the
same for you. If you came looking for biographies and such, read a book. I
suggest "Metallica: The Frayed Ends of Metal" by Chris Crocker. Read. It'll
do you good. My faithful visitors will attest to the fact that my page does
not get updated as often as I would like. I pride myself on running a
content-oriented page and I am trying to add more content as the new album is
released. I am working to get more rare clips posted; the software is
willing, but the hardware is weak. I am done with my rant for now, so please
enjoy the site and if you have any questions or comments e-mail me
here.
Equipment
This site is coded by hand using Notepad on my own hot rod/piece of shit (depending
on what it feels like) computer. Currently, CD's computer is an AMD K6 233 MHz on an
Asus TX-97 XE motherboard in a shitty ATX case from Fry's (don't get me started...)
with a Toshiba 32 meg SDRAM DIMM, Maxtor 84320D5 4.3 gig UDMA hard drive, and
Matrox Millenium II video card with 4 megs of ram. CD makes due with a monitor
and sound card lifted off an old Packard Bell [shudder]. I'll post a list of
the companies I order my parts from; I've had good experiences with most of them.
CD's stereo system (used to annoy his neighbors) is a harman/kardon AVR 20 II
Dolby Pro Logic reciever (60 watts/ch. stereo [20-20,000 Hz @ 0.09% THD], 50
watts x 3 and 20 watts x 2 surround) with a pair of Infinity SM 85 (1" dome tweeter, 8" woofer, 125 watt
power handling, 42-27,000 Hz, 98 dB sensitivity). The tunes are pumped in
with a Denon DCM-360 5 disc cd changer. Needless to say, it's reeaaaally
fuckin' loud. I'll gush over this system later...
